Galatasaray assistant coach Ismael Garcia Gomez has singled out Victor Osimhen as one of the very best forwards in world football, with major European clubs increasingly said to be keeping tabs on the Super Eagles star ahead of the summer transfer window.
Osimhen’s rise at Galatasaray
Garcia Gomez’s comments come as Osimhen continues to elevate his profile since moving to the Turkish champions in 2024. In that spell, the forward has netted 59 goals in 74 appearances, while also playing a key role in Galatasaray’s trophy haul.
- Osimhen helped the club win two Super Lig titles
- He also contributed to a Turkish Cup triumph
Top clubs reportedly monitoring the forward
Osimhen’s output has reportedly sparked renewed interest across Europe as the summer market approaches. Several high-profile teams are said to be tracking his situation, underscoring how quickly his name has resurfaced on the transfer radar.

Garcia Gomez’s assessment of Osimhen
Speaking in an interview with Marca, Garcia Gomez praised the Nigerian’s overall game, arguing that his value to a team goes well beyond finding the back of the net.
In his view, Osimhen stands out even among a group of elite forwards.
“We have several top-level players, but in my opinion, Osimhen is among the top three to five strikers in the world,” the Spaniard said.
Garcia Gomez also highlighted the attacking and defensive traits that make Osimhen difficult to manage for opponents.
“He possesses remarkable physical strength, presses relentlessly, contributes defensively and has the ability to influence opposition defenders even when he is not directly involved in play.”
Future speculation grows despite Istanbul bond
The 27-year-old has built a strong rapport with Galatasaray supporters and has previously spoken about feeling happy in Istanbul. Even so, talk of a possible move is gathering momentum as the continent’s biggest clubs prepare for the summer window.
