Glorious Sports Promotions is set to stage a six-fight professional boxing show in Ibadan on Sunday, June 7, 2026, using an anti-violence theme to push a message of peace. The event will take place at the Indoor Sports Hall of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Oke-Ado.
The promoter, Ganiyu Oladayo, said the card—titled “Fight Until The Killings Stop”—is built to show how sport can serve as a platform to encourage calm and help bring an end to violence.
Rashed “Efele” and Oyewole Ibrahim “Coded” are scheduled to headline the night’s main bout, with both fighters drawing heightened attention before the fight after expressing strong confidence publicly ahead of their showdown.
The undercard features the following matchups:
- Sanusi Babatunde Chibuzor vs Otedola Nurudeen Olalekan “Smally”
- Suara Ismail “Yahoo Boxer” vs Adeniran Rasheed “Natural”
- Ariyo Abdullateef “Alaamu” vs Tijani Tunde Joseph “Buredi”
- Abiodun Muhideen “Fighter” vs Abass Lasisi
- Olalere Wareez “Wasco” vs Dauud Yakubu “Waykay”
Urban Fit Africa and Gloves for Africa are named as supporting organisations for the event.
Hon. Gbenga Opaleye, the chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC), praised Glorious Sports Promotions for its approach to strengthening professional boxing in the state.
“We have taken a bold step in reawakening professional boxing in Oyo State with the training and workshop recently organised for boxing referees and judges, the first of its kind in the history of professional boxing in the state,” Opaleye said.
He also added that continuing work to build boxing facilities and develop local talent would help position Oyo State as a key destination for professional boxing across Nigeria.
