Former Nigeria international and Paris Saint-Germain defender Godwin Okpara believes Victor Osimhen’s next step should be Manchester United, dismissing reports that have linked the striker with moves to Arsenal, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Osimhen’s future has become a constant talking point across European football, with the forward widely expected to leave Galatasaray in the months ahead. Yet Okpara is confident the choice is straightforward, arguing that United offer the right environment for a player with Osimhen’s impact in front of goal.
The former Super Eagles defender says the way Manchester United have been developing their play under Michael Carrick matches the strengths that have made Osimhen such a difficult attacker to manage.
“For me, I would prefer him to go to Manchester United,” Okpara told Soccernet, as relayed by Goal. “He has already played in Belgium, France and Italy. Now, what comes next? If he can’t go to Spain, why not England?
“Manchester United is the best place for him because he will enjoy his football there. The way he plays will fit perfectly into the Manchester United team. It would be the ideal platform for him to showcase his talents. It would be lovely for him to sign for Manchester United.”
Okpara’s view is that after experiences in multiple top leagues, Old Trafford would provide not only the biggest stage, but also the most natural fit for Osimhen’s next chapter.
