Guinea has officially been named host for the 2026 IHF Trophy Zone 2 Tournament, with the event set to take place in Conakry from July 8 to July 12. The five-day competition will bring together national teams from across the region to battle for regional bragging rights and a platform to showcase the next wave of handball talent in Africa.
In total, eight teams are expected to compete, with Senegal, Mali, Morocco and Cape Verde among the confirmed participants. The tournament is anticipated to deliver an exciting mix of emerging squads, featuring developing players eager to make an impact against strong regional opposition.
Organisers believe the showcase will play an important role in pushing the sport forward across the region. Beyond the immediate competition, the event is also viewed as a key stepping stone, offering participating countries valuable match experience and preparation ahead of major continental championships.
