The last four teams in the 2026 Women’s President’s Federation Cup have been confirmed after a lively set of quarter-final fixtures played across the country on a busy day of action.

Heartland Queens secured their place in the semi-finals by overcoming Ibom Angels 4-2 in the penalty shootout after a tense 2-2 stalemate in normal time. Chimebere Opara put Heartland in front in the 13th minute, before Oluebube Umejiaku extended their advantage early in the second half.

Ibom Angels responded with determination to force the match to penalties. Mariam Okocha and Happiness Agboye struck in the 67th and 76th minutes respectively, but Heartland Queens stood firm when it mattered most in the shootout to book their progression.

In the other quarter-final, Nasarawa Amazons edged Edo Queens, the NWFL Premiership titleholders, 5-3 on penalties. The match finished level after regulation time, with neither side able to find a breakthrough before the lottery of spot-kicks decided the winner.

FC Robo Queens produced one of the standout outcomes of the round by knocking out defending champions Rivers Angels with a hard-earned 1-0 triumph. Opeyemi Ajakaye’s strike in the 39th minute proved the difference, as the Lagos-based club held firm to claim a memorable win.

Sunshine Queens also advanced, defeating Confluence Queens 1-0. Bukola Owoseni supplied the decisive moment with an early effort in the 18th minute, giving the Akure side enough to carry them into the semi-finals.

The semi-final line-up sets up two intriguing match-ups. Sunshine Queens will take on Nasarawa Amazons in a contest between two well-established outfits. Nasarawa arrive with plenty of confidence after eliminating a major force in Edo Queens, and their mix of know-how and resilience could be pivotal against Sunshine’s disciplined defensive profile, which has been evident throughout the tournament.

The second semi-final features FC Robo Queens against Heartland Queens, with Robo standing out as the “giant-killers” after their win over Rivers Angels. Heartland, meanwhile, will draw confidence from their determination and calmness from the spot, qualities that could make them equally difficult to beat. With both sides targeting a final appearance, the tie is expected to be tightly fought from start to finish.
