Former Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf has parted ways with Benin Republic outfit Coton Sport, bringing an end to his contract after what proved to be a strong spell in charge.
During his time at the club, Yusuf oversaw a standout campaign in the Beninese top division, finishing the season in second place. That result not only represented the team’s best league standing to date, but also earned them qualification for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup—Coton Sport’s first-ever ticket to continental competition.
Yusuf, an experienced coach who previously guided Nigeria to a silver-medal finish at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN), is now widely expected to return to the Nigeria Premier Football League. Several clubs in the domestic top flight are reported to be monitoring his availability as they look to strengthen their technical direction for the coming season.
