Former Galatasaray vice-president Abdurrahim Albayrak has hailed Victor Osimhen’s impact after the Nigerian forward completed a record-breaking €75 million switch from Napoli.
In remarks made to Turkish broadcaster NTV, Albayrak said the deal immediately captured attention worldwide and highlighted why the club felt justified in committing such a major sum.
“We signed the Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, and paid 75 million euros. The whole world’s media was talking about it. He brought a great deal to Galatasaray,” Albayrak said.
While praising the move, the ex-official acknowledged that trying to repeat a transaction of that scale would be far more challenging in the current climate.
“Paying 75 million euros again, a second or third time, is very difficult right now,” he added.
Albayrak’s comments underline the scale of Osimhen’s influence at Galatasaray, crediting his arrival from Napoli with helping the club reach domestic success.
