Super Falcons Confirm Senegal Double-Header Ahead of WAFCON 2026

Nigeria’s Super Falcons are set for a double-header international friendly against Senegal next month, with the matches scheduled as part of their build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Fixtures confirmed for Senegal double-header

The two encounters will be played at Remo Stars International Stadium in Ikenne. Nigeria will first face Senegal on Friday, 5 June, before returning for the second match on Monday, 8 June.

Purpose of the friendlies ahead of WAFCON 2026

Coach Justine Madugu’s team will use the Senegal games to sharpen their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria had previously been expected to play Jamaica in a friendly at the end of this month, but the North American visitors withdrew because of logistical issues.

In their most recent outing in March, the Super Falcons beat Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses 3-1 in a friendly held in Yaounde.

WAFCON 2026 goals and group opponents

Nigeria will be aiming for an 11th continental title at the WAFCON 2026 finals in July in Morocco.

The West Africans have been placed in Group C alongside debutants Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt.
