Instead of leaning on a standard festival blueprint, the concept borrows from the sports world\u2014treating comedy like a \u201cnational team.\u201d The lineup will blend well-known names with up-and-coming voices, all curated to feel intentional rather than simply expansive.<\/p>\n
Noah is set to serve as the lead curator, with Eugene acting as vice captain and Ntosh stepping in as coach. Together, they aim to grow and spotlight talent on a larger scale, giving performers more visibility while also strengthening the live comedy pipeline for audiences.<\/p>\n
\u201cServing you the finest comedians that you may not know about yet. Giving them a platform,\u201d the trio shared, positioning the project as both a celebration and a launchpad for new careers.<\/p>\n
For Noah, the core mission is to pull people back toward live stand-up in a way that feels immersive, energising, and unmistakably South African. He added that the show experience will lean into physicality and big-screen scale, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s all about stand up comedy. A physical comedy show\u2026 there is nothing like it. A grand scale of stand up comedy that leaves you laughing until you cannot breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n
The festival is expected to unfold across the country over several months, with activations, performances, and additional announcements building toward larger shows later in the year. The opening is scheduled for September at Pretoria\u2019s SunBet Arena, before moving to Cape Town for another major showcase at GrandWest Casino.<\/p>\n
Organisers also used the announcement to encourage audiences not to limit themselves to headline events. They urged fans to support the broader comedy ecosystem, from smaller venues to rising performers who are still finding their footing.<\/p>\n
