The burial in southeastern Nigeria brought closure after months of grief following her passing earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Chukwueze died on January 29 at the age she had been living with a brief illness, while Chukwueze was away on club commitments abroad. Now that the football calendar has wrapped up, the former Villarreal wide player returned home to ensure she received a ceremony in keeping with local family customs.<\/p>\n<h3>Tribute attendance and support<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Samuel Chukwueze buried his mother, Mrs. Serah Chinyere Chukwueze, in Umuahia, Abia State.<\/li>\n<li>Mrs. Chukwueze passed away on January 29 after a brief illness.<\/li>\n<li>The event included family members, dignitaries, business figures and football stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Support came from Nigeria\u2019s football community, including Super Eagles teammates Chidozie Awaziem and Kelechi Iheanacho.<\/li>\n<li>Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau attended to pay his respects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The gathering featured a mix of close relatives, public figures and those connected to the sport. Chukwueze\u2019s fellow players also showed up, with Awaziem and Iheanacho among the Super Eagles contingent offering solidarity.<\/p>\n<p>There were visibly emotional scenes during the service as Chukwueze, wearing traditional white clothing, joined mourners to bid his final farewell. He is widely seen as having drawn strength from his relationship with his mother, a bond he has repeatedly highlighted over the years, including by sharing her images on social media.<\/p>\n<p>With the personal chapter now concluded, focus is set to swing back to Chukwueze\u2019s playing plans. The 26-year-old spent the second half of the season on loan at Fulham, where he gained more minutes and produced a run of encouraging displays.<\/p>\n<p>As the campaign ends, attention will turn to what comes next for the winger.
