Former Kwara United striker Wasiu Alalade has rejected claims that his departure from the club was acrimonious, saying his switch abroad was simply the next stage of his growth as a footballer.<\/p>\n
Now playing professionally in Iraq, the forward added that Kwara United will always hold a special place in his life and career, even though he has moved on.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will continue to be part of Kwara United. Leaving the club is a sign of progress and development in my football career,\u201d Alalade said.<\/p>\n
The ex-under-23 international also highlighted the influence of both Kwara United and ABS FC, describing them as key platforms that helped shape his journey and enable him to reach success.<\/p>\n
Alalade made the comments after taking part in a novelty game that featured players drawn from Kwara-based teams and foreign-based professionals at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl.<\/p>\n
He commended the organisers for putting together the event, noting that it created a valuable opportunity for players to connect and encouraged unity across the wider football community.<\/p>\n
In his view, moments like that should be repeated, arguing that they help build stronger relationships and motivate younger players to stay focused on their dreams.<\/p>\n
