In a customer update issued on Wednesday, Communications Officer Blessing Tunoh said the extended outage will run from 2 July through 30 July 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The operator said the change is intended to give contractors more time to complete installation work for Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) along the Bauchi\u2013Gombe single-circuit 330kV corridor. It also cited the need to make up for days lost during the earlier outage period that had already been approved, with the goal of ensuring the upgrade is finished fully while meeting required technical standards.<\/p>\n<p>The notice added that the OPGW upgrade is part of broader efforts to strengthen Nigeria\u2019s transmission infrastructure and raise system reliability across the wider grid.
