Nigeria\u2019s Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) says nearly all government agencies it monitors are now meeting basic expectations for how quickly they respond to business enquiries and deliver services on schedule. Director General Princess Zahrah Audu made the assessment public in Abuja while briefing journalists on efforts to improve the ease of doing business in the country.<\/p>\n
Audu said PEBEC\u2019s latest review shows that 98% of the 69 ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) under its monitoring have effective response mechanisms.<\/p>\n
She said the council\u2019s findings point to wider gains in government responsiveness, transparency, and compliance with service delivery timelines across the country.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead to the next monitoring period, Audu stated that from 2025 into 2026, the government can \u201cboastfully\u201d report that 98% of the 69 MDAs being tracked are very responsive\u2014adding that businesses and stakeholders receive timely feedback by phone or email.<\/p>\n
In her remarks, Audu described the practical changes businesses should notice from agencies\u2019 improved performance, particularly around communication and delivery schedules.<\/p>\n
Audu linked the improvement to reforms introduced under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s government.<\/p>\n
She said the approach has emphasized support and capacity-building rather than punishment, explaining that the program focused on giving agencies technical assistance to strengthen performance instead of relying on a \u201cnaming-and-shaming\u201d strategy.<\/p>\n
According to Audu, the council\u2019s role is to address weaknesses affecting the business environment by identifying gaps and working directly with MDAs to build solutions.<\/p>\n
