The proposed package was described as an upgraded salary arrangement, with the federation set to cover the costs of his backroom staff. Dikko also said the arrangement would include an extra responsibility focused on overseeing Nigeria\u2019s U23 programme in the build-up to the next Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>However, despite that public announcement, Chelle has reportedly not yet put pen to paper on the extension.<\/p>\n<h2>Interest from elsewhere grows<\/h2>\n<p>Journalist Oluwashina Okeleji reported that the NFF is encountering mounting pressure from other football markets, with multiple African national sides and North African clubs showing interest in Chelle\u2019s services.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Several African national teams are monitoring the situation with a view to recruiting the coach.<\/li>\n<li>North African clubs are also understood to be among the parties interested in securing Chelle.<\/li>\n<li>The competition for his signature increases the urgency for the NFF to conclude talks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What Chelle\u2019s current deal and record show<\/h2>\n<p>Chelle was appointed Super Eagles manager in January 2025 and remains contracted until January 2027.
