The move reflects the company\u2019s sustained earnings momentum, tight control of liquidity, and a market position anchored by brand strength, diversified offerings and an established distribution footprint.<\/p>\n<h2>Ratings upgrade and stable outlook<\/h2>\n<p>GCR Ratings (GCR), a pan-African credit rating agency, upgraded FCMBAM\u2019s national scale long-term and short-term issuer ratings to A(NG) and A1(NG) from A-(NG) and A2(NG). The outlook on the ratings remains stable.<\/p>\n<h2>What drove the decision<\/h2>\n<p>The upgrade is tied to FCMBAM\u2019s ability to hold its competitive ground while demonstrating financial discipline, alongside improvements in the credit profile of FCMB Group Plc.<\/p>\n<p>GCR pointed to FCMBAM\u2019s decade-long record of strong execution, its well-known brand franchise, a diversified product lineup, and a resilient distribution network as central reasons for its standalone strength. These factors are reinforced by steady earnings growth and a balance sheet that remains disciplined and unleveraged.<\/p>\n<p>In assessing the company\u2019s market position, GCR cited a combination of experience, franchise strength, established product and geographic reach, and cross-selling opportunities.
