Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has delivered a significant lift to both Fulham and Nigeria after being cleared to return to action from injury.<\/p>\n
Fulham boss Marco Silva confirmed that the Nigerian playmaker has resumed full training and is available for selection ahead of Sunday\u2019s Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers.<\/p>\n
Iwobi had been sidelined by a hamstring problem picked up during the opening half of Fulham\u2019s 0-0 draw with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.<\/p>\n
The setback ruled him out of Fulham\u2019s most recent three league matches against Aston Villa, Arsenal and Bournemouth.<\/p>\n
Addressing reporters before the game, Silva said he was pleased with Iwobi\u2019s progress and stressed the impact the midfielder can have on the team\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlex is back in contention for the game,\u201d Silva said. \u201cLast week, he had some training sessions with us. This week, throughout the week, he\u2019s been working with us. It\u2019s been a good week for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Fulham manager also pointed to Iwobi\u2019s influence, describing him as one of the squad\u2019s most important figures thanks to his ability to adapt and his quality when in possession.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a big player for us, definitely,\u201d Marco added. \u201cHe\u2019s a player who\u2019s very versatile, who can play in many different positions. He\u2019s also a player that can add extra quality in the decision making.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn all aspects of the game he\u2019s a key player for us and he\u2019s shown it again this season. It\u2019s a boost. Definitely, it\u2019s a boost,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Iwobi\u2019s comeback will be equally valuable for Eric Chelle as Nigeria prepare for upcoming international friendlies against Portugal and Poland.<\/p>\n
