In Ijebu North East, among 7,120 registered members, 5,655 votes were cast for Abiodun. Otunba Gbenga Daniel obtained 12 votes and Bukola Braimoh received 17.<\/p>\n
In Ikenne, out of 8,643 members, Abiodun garnered 8,226 votes. Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Bukola Braimoh recorded no votes in that area.<\/p>\n
In Remo North, with 8,857 members in total, 7,034 voted for Abiodun. In Ijebu-Ode, from 16,910 party faithful, 10,942 votes were recorded for Abiodun.<\/p>\n
In Ogun Waterside, 6,958 votes were recorded for Prince Abiodun from 8,882 registered members. In Odogbolu, where 11,472 were registered, Abiodun secured 7,989 votes, while Otunba Gbenga Daniel polled 219.<\/p>\n
In Ijebu East, out of 10,219 members, Abiodun received 7,058 votes, with Otunba Gbenga Daniel collecting 139. In Ijebu North, with 17,109 registered party members, 13,469 voted for Abiodun, while Otunba Gbenga Daniel scored 22 votes.<\/p>\n
Declaring Prince Abiodun winner of the Ogun East APC primary after he secured the largest number of votes, the Returning Officer thanked the people of Ogun East Senatorial District for what he described as a peaceful process and a warm reception. He said the exercise was \u201cunparalleled.\u201d<\/p>\n
Acceptance remarks<\/h3>\n
In his acceptance speech, Governor Abiodun thanked voters in Ogun East Senatorial District for placing their trust in him and praised party members for the discipline and \u201cmaturity\u201d he said characterises the APC.<\/p>\n
He also recalled that he had contested for the same senatorial position 29 years earlier and won, but was not sworn in. He said that after multiple setbacks, he was eventually able to secure victory in the 2019 governorship election, attributing the outcome to God.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thank you for the confidence reposed in me. I take this as a vote of confidence in my administration. I promise that I will not disappoint you; I will give you quality representation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The governor further expressed appreciation to security personnel, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party faithful, members of his cabinet, and his staff. He described them as \u201cunsung heroes\u201d for their support and cooperation during the exercise.<\/p>\n
