Nigeria collected a total of 29 medals at the event.<\/p>\n<p>NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko hailed the athletes for their determination and for representing the country with distinction on the continental stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis result is a clear sign that Nigerian sport is heading in the right direction. Our athletes have continued to demonstrate courage, discipline, and excellence whenever they take part at the international level. Securing 29 medals at the African Championship is more than a win for weightlifting\u2014it is a source of pride for the entire nation,\u201d Dikko said.<\/p>\n<p>In a similar vein, NSC Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade described Nigeria\u2019s campaign as further evidence of the country\u2019s expanding strength across multiple sports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe steadiness and dominance shown by our weightlifters in Egypt strongly point to the effort and preparation taking place behind the scenes,\u201d Olopade said. \u201cThis milestone should motivate athletes around the country to trust that with dedication and the right support, Nigeria can keep its place as an African powerhouse and contend strongly on the world stage.
