Okoye\u2019s journey to that recognition was anything but straightforward. After a challenging opening stretch, he found himself temporarily sidelined as a result of a bureaucratic suspension tied to an alleged match-fixing matter. That situation was later cleared, allowing the Nigerian goalkeeper to return to action and ultimately rebuild his momentum.<\/p>\n
Once he was back in the starting XI, he quickly reasserted himself as Udinese\u2019s first-choice option. His performances brought a renewed authority to the back line, with several standout displays coming in pressure-packed fixtures against some of Italy\u2019s most established clubs, including Juventus and AC Milan.<\/p>\n
Across 29 league appearances, the 26-year-old ended the season with 10 clean sheets, a return that underlined his importance to the club\u2019s defensive solidity and consistency. His form was so influential that he also earned a nomination for the Serie A Player of the Month award for May.<\/p>\n
