Motivational author and speaker Rachel Kolisi has offered an update on her road to recovery after undergoing shoulder surgery, opening up about what life has looked like in the days since the procedure.<\/p>\n
The estranged wife of Siya Kolisi first mentioned that she had been admitted to hospital, before later confirming that she went under the knife on Monday, 18 May.<\/p>\n
Using her Instagram Stories, Rachel posted a playful \u201cproof of life\u201d check-in from home as she continued to heal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI figured I\u2019d record a proof of life video\u2026 and I also thought it would be smarter to film it while I\u2019m not on pain medication. That way, I can make sure nothing entertaining\u2014at least, not in the wrong way\u2014comes out of my mouth,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n
Rachel also addressed a previous hospital photo she shared, admitting that the picture may have looked more intense than she intended.<\/p>\n
She clarified that the image was meant to highlight a warm family moment, with her children caring for her while she recovered.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is fine\u2026 I\u2019m going to try to have a shower today. I had a shoulder operation on Monday (last week), and I\u2019m sorry about that second photo I added to my post\u2014it looks far more dramatic than it needed to be. I was only trying to show that the kids were doing a little facial for me, so I was trying to keep it sweet,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The mother of four went on to reflect on the help she has received from friends and family throughout her recovery.<\/p>\n
In a Reel posted to Instagram, Rachel described the week after the surgery as difficult, while also thanking everyone who showed up to support her and her children.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot ideal, obviously. But it is what it is. I got through the first week after surgery only because I have the best people around me. I\u2019m so grateful for every call, every lift, every message, every meal, the kids being picked up, the homework\u2014and everything else\u2026 THANK YOU. We move \ud83d\udcaa\ud83c\udffc\u2665\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n
