Twitter racists, the los of Brown Dash, Minnie’s engagement and Arno Carstens baby… catch up on the zalebrity news which caught our attention over the past week.

It almost seems like the Twitter racists, AKA Jessica Leandra dos Santos and Tshidi Thama, were called into the ‘principals’ office  like bad little school kids, to apologise and acknowledge one another.

The two were called to a press conference at the home of Democratic Alliance national spokesperson Mmusi Maimane to shake hands and confirm to the world that they had no problems with one another or other races. The party insisted this was no publicity stunt, but we have to point out that dos Santos has shot from 2 591 followers on Twitter before the incident – to 7 263 followers.

Whilst Jessica and Tshidi were busy shaking hands, the SA Music Industry lost one of its very talented kwaito stars Brown Dash – so soon after he performed at the recent SAMAs. Brown Dash – real name Simphiwe Mpamile – has been in and out of hospital since he was diagnosed with pneumonia in 2010. And when he complained of feeling sick on Tuesday he was rushed to the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Johannesburg for what turned out to be the last time, as he sadly passed away on Wednesday 9 May.

Dash shot to fame in the early days of 2002 when he was featured on Mzekezeke smash hit single ‘Sguqa Ngamadolo’. He went on to release the album ‘ Umthandazo Wabolova’ which won him best kwaito artist at the 2005 South African Music Awards (SAMAS), this album also featured the ever so classic hit ‘Phans’komthunzi welanga’.

Brown Dash will be laid to rest this coming Saturday and his memorial will be held sometime this week.

Onto a much lighter note it is rumoured that the lovely Minnie Dlamini – current face of Motions Hair – will be tying the knot at the end of this year with her Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana goalkeeper boyfriend Itumeleng Khune. Minnie (22) and Itumeleng (24) met in 2010, when they were introduced to one another by a mutual friend.

Rumour has it the couple are to have a white wedding early next year with their traditional wedding taking place in December as lobola has already been paid. One can almost guarantee this will be a Top Billing Wedding. Halala to the couple.

And to stay on the happy note – Arno Carstens and his lovely wife Melanie announced the birth of their son on Twitter on Sunday. Melanie tweeted the announcement, “Our son, Hayden Christian Carstens was born on 4 May 2012. Thank you @ArnoCarstens for the greatest gift of my life.” along with a picture of Arno and their little bundle of joy, while proud dad tweeted “congrats on first time mothersday mommy @MelanieCarstens.”

Congrats to the new parents, we can’t wait to see more baby pics.
