Heading to jail to serve a long conviction for murder has not doused rapper Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s love life. Despite being left by his former girlfriend, the controversial and recently clean Kelly Khumalo, it appears that the musician still has the ability to charm the ladies – even from his cell.
Journalists started to connect the dots when they noticed 22-year old Zandile Ngwenya in court, who became visibly upset when Jub Jub and his co-accused, Themba Tshabalala, were convicted for murder, attempted murder and driving under the influence. She also apparently referred to Jub Jub’s father as “papa”, according to a City Press report.
When proceedings ended at the conviction hearing, the beleaguered rapper handed his belt, jacket, bible and a necklace to Ngwenya, then embraced her.
When the newspaper contacted her to confirm the rumour of their couple status, Ngwenya denied it, instead claiming she was his cousin. She then corrected herself, saying she was his cousin’s sister – barring special circumstances that would still make her Jub Jub’s cousin.
But the quotes were most likely an attempt by Ngwenya to hide the relationship. She has been more candid online, making mention of Jub Jub by his initials. She might even have let slip of an engagement, tweeting: “I’m so in love with you Mo! My fiancé.”
In another clue, a photo posted by her reveal the young woman being embraced by someone’s arm – sporting the exact tattoo that Jub Jub has on his. When a friend asked about it, she responded: “No, its not my tattoo:) sm1s got their arm arnd my neck from behind.”
