Last night East Coast Radio’s Ndumiso Ngcobo hosted expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema for the first hour of the show and in the second hour he took calls from listeners to get a sense of what they made of the interview. Malema was his usual self and didn’t mince his words.
Malema stated that the ANC made a terrible mistake by electing Zuma, the worst mistake in the history of the ANC, saying the only good quality that Zuma has is that he is a good singer.
On the other hand Juju said Kgalema Motlanthe is a dignified leader of the ANC who is free from scandals. He also revealed that Kgalema is being sidelined by the Zuma faction of the movement and made and cited an example where Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane was asked to go and speak at some Youth Day event on behalf of Zuma (who was away) which was a duty that Malema feels was supposed to be assigned to Kgalema as the Deputy President.
Juju’s prediction for the ANC’s elective conference in Mangaung was that his camp will defeat the Zuma camp. Kgalema will be elected as president of the ANC and Fikile Mbalula will replace Gwede Mantashe as the secretary-general. He did also predict that Zuma’s camp will reject the result and there will be war/violence.
The interview attracted listeners even from beyond the borders of South Africa.
Wynand Radyn tweeted:”Please ask the difficult questions. I’m listening from Qatar. Please make it worthwhile.”
Dalena Theron in Sao Paulo tweeted:”Where will I follow if I’m not in SA? Will someone be tweeting?” Michelle tweeted:” It scares me when someone can violently incite people in public and get away with it.
A tweet from Clive Mchune read:”He didn’t say all that when he was wearing a 100% Zulu boy T,” and businessman Given Mkhari tweeted:”Thanks to Ndumiso I got to listen to radio in DBN, interesting radio that is.”
The callers had different opinions, some for and others against Juju but the response was massive.
