If ever there was a proud moment for 2013 in South Africa it definitely has to be the nominations for the leading African celebrities to watch in 2013.

Out of 13 African celebrities local media personalities Bonang Matheba, Trevor Noah and DJ Sbu (Sbu Leope) made in to the list. Messages of congratulations came from all corners of the country praising these media personalities for their achievement.

During an interview with The New Age, DJ Sbu mentioned how this nomination greatly humbled him as he too was an avid Forbes reader.

“I’ve been reading Forbes over the years and being on that list for me means power and success.  It says I am capable of global success but more than anything it makes me want to step up my game and do more,” he told the newspaper.
