Katy Not Too Burnt By Brand

American pop star Katy Perry has said she has “landed on her feet” since she split from ex-husband Russell Brand.

The hitmaker’s 3D movie Part of Me is heading to cinemas this year, and the film features footage from around the time she split from the British actor after 14 months of marriage. Katy said she wanted to include the clips so that people could see it was possible to bounce back from difficulties.

She said, “I think if you were to see the movie and [the split] was completely avoided, you’d think, ‘Hmm, that’s strange, I know something else happened in her life last year’.”

She added that she’s gone through the “same situation that half of America goes through and somehow I landed on my feet, so you don’t have to lay down and die like you think”.

She hopes that people will relate to her more after seeing the more intimate scenes where she was at her lowest point.

Yeah, people love seeing other people more depressed than they are… Even if they are unimaginably rich.

Kids Ruin Marriage

Country singer Dolly Parton has revealed the secret to a happy marriage: don’t have children.

The singer, who married Carl Thomas Dean in May 1966, credits their successful marriage of 46 years to the fact that they have no children.

She listed reasons they have been together so long: “Mutual respect, shared interests, and the fact that I stay gone a long time! Not having children together, and not having money problems has probably helped”.

She added, “A lot of the pressures that cause couples trouble are just things we never had to go through”.

It seems Dolly is a big flirt though. She says she likes to flirt with younger men especially, as it makes her “happy”. Of her husband being jealous, she says he knows he would never do anything to hurt him”.

Don’t count your chickens, Dolly!

Kim & Kanye Brought Together By Parents’ Deaths

Reality television star Kim Kardashian has said she can relate to her new boyfriend Kanye West because he has also lost a parent.

Kim’s father Robert passed away in 2003, and Kanye’s mother died in 2007 after complications from cosmetic surgery. The experiences have helped them bond, she says.

She adds, “It’s very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you, that respects you, understands, has gone through the similar things. I can really relate to his mother passing.”

Kim, who split from Kris Humphries in October last year after only 72 days of marriage, said that she thinks it was her and Kanye’s destiny to get together.

Let’s hope she didn’t tell Kris the same thing when they got together…

Pop King’s Pet Dies

Michael Jackson’s former pet tiger has died after suffering from lung cancer.

Thriller, the 13-year-old tiger, died on actress/activist Tippi Hedren’s wildlife preserve earlier this week.

Msnbc reported that Tippi said, “Thriller was a real piece of work, one gutsy girl”. She would apparently steal food from her brother Sabu, which was quite risky in the normal world of tigers.

Tippi added, “She was about as tough a tiger as we have known here. She ruled over Sabu. She was the queen. We were fascinated by her dominance.”

Thriller and her brother had lived on Michael’s Neverland Ranch until 2006 when he had to move out. He asked Tippi to look after them. However, the actress said he had never sent any money to help pay for their care; nor had he ever phoned to ask about them.

Tippi and her fellow animal caretakers are taking the death hard. They held a private service for her and buried her ashes.

We suppose they didn’t miss Michael that much…

Racist Vulgar Anthem Shocks KFC Customer

Cape Town resident Tariq Mellett was innocently awaiting the chance to order takeaway chicken from the KFC store in Buitenkant Street in Gardens, and was shocked, along with several other customers, at what sounded like a rendition of South Africa’s national anthem that belted out of the shop’s speakers.

According to the Cape Times, he said, “It sounded like parts of the national anthem, but I was surprised when the song started in Afrikaans with: Nkosi Sikelel’… Nkosi is ‘n doos, Mandela is ‘n f***en k*****… and so on, at full blast.”

Mellett and two other customers looked at each other, all apparently shocked at the “vulgarity, profanity, and racism” the song had expressed.

The customers apparently asked the KFC staff to switch the song off, and they did so, but only after a long while.

KFC’s provincial manager told the Cape Times that the query had been forwarded to franchisor Yum Restaurants, and the matter was being looked into.

Maybe this is finally the worst rendition of theNational Anthem since Ard Mathews’ embarrassing attempt…

Russell Of Little Faith

Russell Brand thinks the London 2012 Olympics will be a disaster.

The comedic actor admitted that he thinks China did a great job of hosting the Games four years ago but the British are not all that good at organisation.

He told America’s Conan O’Brien: “China did such a great job. We are too clumsy, we are too self-effacing as you know with the English the politeness masks deep sexual deviance.

“I think we are under a lot of pressure, because China were clearly able to demonstrate the opening ceremony that ‘we can make all these people do the exact same thing at once – don’t you dare get in a war with us.’

He continued: “I like England and I am from there. But when it involves organisation it is going to be a right balls up.

“Things will catch fire and people will be tripping over things, then it [will] start raining and the Queen will do a fart.”

Russell also admitted that he did not celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee this month.

He admitted: “It is hypocritical, isn’t it? We will rise up. I say it is time for a bloody revolution. Some people are into it and it only takes one to chop off someone’s head.

“People need to have things to celebrate otherwise people realise we are oppressed and unable to express ourselves freely because we are at the behest of all these corporate entities.

“So yeah they have a party to distract us from the fact we are being tyrannised.”

Trust Russell to put a damper on things…

Pink Is The Colour For Harper Seven

Victoria Beckham is hiring pink rabbits for her daughter’s first birthday.

The fashion designer and her football star husband David Beckham are planning a lavish bash to mark Harper Seven’s first birthday next month and the couple are pulling out all the stops for the occasion.

A source told Closer magazine: “Victoria’s spending around £50,000. The garden will be filled with big pink cuddly toys, pony rides, a bouncy castle, balloons and tons of cupcakes. It’ll be totally pink.

“It sounds odd, but she’s even hiring special dyed-pink rabbits.

“They haven’t had a house party since they got their Beverly Hills mansion totally renovated so they wanted a big celebration to show that off too.”

The party was initially planned to be an intimate occasion but the plans rapidly escalated.

A source close to the couple – who also have sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz – said: “The party will be before Harper’s actual birthday on 10 July, as on the day they’ll be in the UK where they’ll have a small celebration.

“It started off so simple with Victoria thinking it’d be cute to throw a party with all her friends. But with the excuse of a housewarming and Independence Day on July 4 coming up, it escalated into a proper showbiz bash.

“The guests will be all the Hollywood parents and kids – Victoria often has playdates with other celeb mums such as Selma Blair and Nicole Richie. And obviously, her best friend, Harper’s godmother Eva Longoria, will be there. Harper will get some amazing gifts.”

Talk about overkill…

Paris Hilton has been accused of attacking a photographer because she “was on drugs”.

The Hilton hotel heiress was captured on camera in a physical altercation with paparazzi member Billy Barerra on Tuesday.

According to Billy, she was worried he had caught her doing something bad.

He told website RadarOnline: “It was 3:30 in the morning, the party was over and I was just walking through the parking lot to go to the bathroom when I see Paris, so I turned on my camera.

“I wasn’t expecting to get jumped! I’ve shot Paris a lot and am always nice to her.”

Shortly afterwards her entourage — including heir Brandon Davis — tried to take the camera from him.

Billy said: “Paris was acting like she was on drugs. I know drugs, I’ve seen a lot of people on them, and Paris is one of them.”

He continued: “She attacked me for no reason, like you can see on the video, but what you don’t see is that she was hanging off my neck like a piggy back ride as I walked up to the next garage level.

“Her friends all started attacking me and no one could see us until we got up to that next level, and that’s when I yelled for help and the other paps came running and shot some video.”

Later, staff at David Arquette’s new nightclub Bootsy Bellows allegedly tried to strike a deal with him.

He claimed: “She said she wanted to negotiate with me, telling me this was bad publicity for the club.”

Why not just stay away from trouble, Paris?

Time To Get In The Ring…Finally!

Jennifer Hudson’s wedding to World Wrestling Entertainment star David Otunga is back on after she reportedly backed out.

Apparently the Academy Award winner and her sportsman partner attempted to work through their issues around the time of William Balfour’s murder trial, where he was found guilty of murdering her mother, brother and nephew.

A source told website RadarOnline: “Jennifer started feeling like it just wasn’t right. So many bad things have happened since they got engaged in 2008 that have prevented them from finally getting married, and she was worried that she was just trying too hard to make something happen that wasn’t meant to be.”

The insider continued: “Jennifer and David quietly called off the wedding a few months ago and she even returned her ring to him. She was extremely stressed out and processing a lot of emotions about the murder of her family after the trial ended, and she just cracked.”

The couple recently revealed they were excited about organising their upcoming nuptials with David admitting the court case was a huge factor in the way of saying “I do”.

The 32-year-old wrestler said: “That was something that was hanging over our heads for so long, and now we feel like we can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Everything is good now.”

The source added: “After things settled down, she realised that he was her rock and that she wanted to spend her life with him and keep building their family together. She is more sure than ever now that she is ready to get married.”

We hope Otunga doesn’t try any ‘special’ moves in the bedroom on their wedding night…

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are not in an exclusive relationship.

The former ‘That 70s Show’ stars have reportedly been dating but are also seeing other people.

The ‘Ted’ actress and the ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor were spotted riding around Hollywood on Ashton’s motorcycle on June 17.

The screen stars were also spotted sharing meals several times during the spring and apparently took a three-day road trip getaway outside Los Angeles in late April – but are not an official couple.

A source told UsMagazine.com: “They’re not exclusive, but they are hanging out and seeing where it’s going.”

For six years, 34-year-old Ashton was married to 49-year-old Demi Moore.

At the same time 28-year-old Mila was in a long-term relationship with 31-year-old actor Macaulay Culkin.

A second insider added: “They’ve been hot for each other for years. It stretches back to when they were friends on their show!”

Mila is still in touch with the marine she went on a date with last year.

The ‘Black Swan’ actress accepted an invitation sent by Sergeant Scott Moore of the Third Batallion, 2nd Marines to his Marine Corps Ball via YouTube in late 2011, and she admits they continue to speak on the phone occasionally.

She said: “We are still in contact. We email back and forth and spoke on the phone about a month ago!”

Oh, the joys of being a hot Hollywood star…
