A Different Brand Of Naughty

Russell Brand is in hot water with police after allegedly destroying a photographer’s mobile phone by throwing it through a window.

According to TMZ, the incident took place in March in New Orleans and the British actor now faces a legal battle which could see him go to jail for six months.

The charge of misdemeanor criminal damage to property is being prepared by the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office and Brand faces an anxious wait to see whether court is necessary.

At the time of the incident, Brand Tweeted: ‘Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.’

Seems like a lame excuse to us?

Here’s My Computer, So Hack It Maybe?

The ‘Call Me Maybe’ singer recently fought to clear her name following the emergence of nude pictures of someone claiming to be her.

But now, according to TMZ, Jepsen has told the law that someone has hacked her computer and stolen ACTUAL pictures of her in the buff!

Vancouver police are currently looking into the situation and it is believed that the culprit is likely to face some pretty serious charges.

A Modern Family Is Money Hungry

The ‘Modern Family’ cast are all looking for serious pay rises by threatening to walk away from the show.

Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara have all found loopholes in their contracts and are using them to squeeze more money out of 20th Century Fox TV.

The loophole relates to a ‘seven year’ law in the state of California, which means nobody can sign a contract for longer than seven years – something which is clearly marked in their contracts.

The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed that 20th Century Fox TV had made a new offer to the stars, but the actors dismissed it without a second thought.

This looks like it could turn nasty.

You’re Our (Very Rich) Idol

Mariah Carey has just landed a major payday after penning a contract to become a judge on ‘American Idol’.

The popstar will earn around $18million for one year of judging, making her the highest paid reality television judge ever.

After agreeing to the deal, Carey Tweeted: ‘It’s gonna be so much fun working on American Idol. As a singer-songwriter, I’m excited to help find and nurture new talent. LYM! – MC’

By our calculations, Carey will be earning $34 per minute for her Idols gig – so the time it took you to read this equates to $34-$68 in Carey’s terms. Sad face…

You Lied To Me, Kirstie!

Former fatty Kirstie Alley has been slapped with a lawsuit with regard to her dramatic weight loss.

Alley is a spokesperson for ‘Organic Liaison’ and says it is the reason she shed her weight.

However, a woman from California, Marina Abramyan,  is claiming that the weight-loss programme was not the reason for Alley’s slimming down, therefore insisting that she was lied to by both the actress and the company.

This proves that nothing beats good old exercise…

Lady Gaga Being a Brat(z)?

MGA Entertainment, the creators of the Bratz dolls, is suing pop singer Lady Gaga over a project that Gaga wanted to delay to make the most of her CD release.

The creators are looking for $10 million in damages against Gaga, her management company, and Universal Music Group’s Bravado International Group because they claimed turning Lady Gaga into a Bratz doll was approved already in December 2011, and that the “Paparazzi” singer wished to delay the production of the doll until the release of her new album, expected in 2013.

The dolls would sport an array of Gaga’s costumes and also have a chip that would play some of her hits, but Gaga has neglected to approve the final designs for the dolls.

According to E! Online, the doll was supposed to be released in time for the Christmas season this year. However, a judge has denied the Bratz creators’ request to force the pop star to authorise the dolls’ production.

So no meat dresses for the dolls quite yet…

Killing Jokes Not Cool for Deadmau5

DJ Deadmau5 has hit out at Playboy model Tricia Evans for her less-than-savoury joke posted on Twitter on Friday.

Twelve people were killed and many more injured in a mass shooting at a Colorado theatre where the new The Dark Knight Rises film was premiering at a special midnight screening. But just hours after the tragedy, the model tweeted, “Tragedies happen in our world every day. Jump off the bandwagon… I heard the new Batman movie is really ‘to die for’! Too soon?”

Deadmau5 took serious offence, lashing out with, “@HollywoodTricia i seriously had no idea how big of a piece of s**t you are.”

She didn’t back down though, tweeting, “@deadmau5 Listen, apparently I have a different opinion than u. That doesn’t make me a piece of s**t.”

The DJ then asked if her “opinion” was “humour”, but Evans stuck to her guns, saying no one can stop her from saying “anything [she wants].”

We bet Deadmau5 wishes he had a mouse trap with Evans’ name on it…

Kristen’s Twilight is Over…

It appears that Twilight star Kristen Stewart’s fairy tale is over after she was caught red-lipped cheating on her boyfriend Robert Pattinson.

She apparently had a fling with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, and there are even photos of their kissing session.

The public was in shock and many refuted the images as Photoshop art, but Rupert and Kristen both issued public apologies to their partners on Thursday.

Stewart’s statement was, “I’m terribly sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

Sanders is married to British Vogue model Liberty Rossalso, and he said, “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”

Apparently the indiscretion was only a momentary mistake, but we think this might Eclipse their good memories…

Colorado Shooter’s Unheeded Warning

A new report claims that James Holmes, the man who killed 12 people in a mass shooting in Colorado, actually told a psychologist at the University of Colorado about what he planning. However, the details were sent in a notebook to the psychologist, who never opened the package.

An insider told Fox that the notebook was filled with drawings of what he was going to do. Apparently the package had been sitting in the mailroom since July 12, and was never even delivered to the recipient.

No one is sure if the recipient of the package had ever had contact with Holmes but they apparently treated patients at an outpatient facility on the campus.

Meanwhile, in more positive news, the lead actor of The Dark Knight Returns – the film that was screened when the mass shooting was taking place – Christian Bale visited victims of the tragedy in Aurora.

The actor apparently spent over two hours at the Medical Centre of Aurora, and met with seven patients there. The press had no idea that Bale was planning a visit, nor did he give any public statements while there.

According to TheHollywoodGossip, the interim president of Bill Voloch said it was good for the patients. Bale also visited the memorial close to the theatre.

We Forgot About Khanyi!

Socialite Khanyi Mbau has been moving under the public radar lately, but is looking forward to her new role as Lebo Mathosa in an upcoming musical.

The actress and singer added that she was sorry for replacing Bhelekazi Ruiters, the original lead who is suffering from an Achilles heel injury, and wished her a speedy recovery, but added – we think rather snottily – “I always said during rehearsals when something is not meant for you it’s not.”

According to The New Age, Mbau says she is very pleased to have the opportunity to play her “favourite musical icon”, who died in a car crash in 2006.

Ruiters’ “dream has been shattered”, the musical’s producer Sello Maake ka Ncube said, as she competed against 200 hopefuls to win the role.
