Zuma Congratulates Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse

President Jacob Zuma has congratulated recent high school graduate, Sipho ‘Hotsticks’ Mabuse for having achieved his matric at the age of 61.

Channel 24 reports that in a statement issued by the presidency, Zuma said: “On behalf of government and the people of South Africa, we extend our sincere congratulations to Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse for achieving this amazing milestone at his age.

“You are indeed an inspiration to all of us by showing us that one is never too old for education. We admire your tenacity, discipline and your zeal to succeed, and wish you well in all your future endeavours.”

Mabuse receieved his matric certificate four decades after dropping out of grade 11. He wrote his examinations at the Thaba Jabula high school in Soweto earlier this year.
