7de laan scoops top awards

The cast of 7de Laan is filled with joy after the truimphant week that the popular soapie experienced last week. The show's successes began at the Tempo Awards, where Both Christo Davids and Sorina Erasmus picked up the Best Actor and Best Actress awards respectively. A perfect evening was rounded off when the "Favorite Soap" award was presented to the show, although it was expect, after a strong production year.

If the dominance at the Tempo Awards was atypical, then the real testament to the show's quality was it's receiving the "Favorite Actor," "Favorite Actress," "Favorite Soapie" awards at the weekend's You Spectacular Awards. Coming against strong competitors in a largely English-Speaking audience, 7 De Laan emerged victorious and managed to celebrate an incredible week in which they dominated every category in which they were nominated.

“ To be voted ‘soapie of the year’ by Huisgenoot/YOU readers is, as Oubaas would put it, ‘n riem regdeur die hart. A big thank you to everyone who voted for us it is a joy to have such loyal viewers. We hope you will continue to welcome us into your homes to share the ups and downs in the Laan for many more years to come,” says Linda Scheepers, 7de Laan’s head writer.

'7de Laan has some of the Best Talent in SA'- Odendaal

Danie Odendaal, 7de Laan’s producer, believes the production boasts some of the strongest talent in the industry, both in front of and behind the cameras. They deliver their best, day after day, putting in long hours of hard work. It is wonderful for them to receive recognition from the viewers in this way.

Christo Davids, who stars as the one and only Errol, was unavailable for comment but The Flooze has the following to say:

“To every tjomma: these Award doesn’t only have Flooze’s name on it but all of your names as well!! Thank you for liking me just the way I am. And thanks to 7de Laan who made this Flooze goose part of their wonderful family.”

ZAlebs would like to Congratulate the entire cast of 7de Laan for their continued hard work and progress. The soapie well and truly deserves these incredible accolades.
