What's Hot: African nominees enjoying BET experience
By Zee Nonjabulo on 28 June 2015 at 09:48 · Comments
The BET Awards are taking place on Sunday night and by the looks of things, our African nominees and media personalities are ready for the show!

The countdown to the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday night, 28 June, has begun, as stars prepare for the glitzy night of music and entertainment mayhem. Whilst many of the international stars perform at pre-BET gigs, our very own African artists/nominees are also making their presence felt in L.A

African nominee's AKA and Ghana musician Sarkodie have been enjoying their stay in the City of Angels, snapping pictures whenever they get the chance to.

Congolese singer and songwriter, Fally Ipupa, also caused a musical storm in L.A when he performed at the BET International Nominee Reception party. The singer performed many of his hits and as we know it wouldn't be a true Fally Ipupa performance without his waist gyrating moves that the ladies love so much.

Fally Ipupa is such a dope performer. Really enjoyed his set today! #BETExperience #FallyIpupa

Bonang Matheba has also touched down in L.A and is loving every moment of the BET Experience. Bonang will be hosting the BET red carpet experience for her Metro FM Show, The Front Row.

And as we all know it wouldn't be a true international trip for the Queen B* if her African posse isn't around. Speaking to Destiny Connect about her trip to L.A. Bonang said she was locked and loaded to host the red carpet of one of the most anticipated music awards of the year:

“My red carpet readiness is very simple: I have a lot of water and make sure that I wear comfortable shoes. I’ve learnt in my experiences of covering the MTV EMAs, doing BETs and the Nickelodeon Awards that you need comfortable shoes.

Internationally the red carpet are out in the sun and you need to have a lot of sun protection, but more than anything, you need to be hydrated because you find that you’re on your feet working for over three hours.” She told the publication.

ZAlebs would like to wish all our African nominees the best of luck on Sunday, show them what you're made of!
