On Saturday, 15 August, make sure you are ready, because new music is about to hit our ears, and it’s from none other than the R&B Afro- soul singer Zonke. On Friday morning, Zonke teased her fans with her new single, Reach It, during an interview on Kaya FM.
The single showcases Zonke at her best – it is the work of a grown, assured singer-songwriter and producer. As undoubtedly one of the reigning queens of Afro-soul, Zonke is an R&B star in the full flower of her abilities. An instinctive writer, Zonke’s compositions flow and carry with them the collective experiences she effortlessly puts to music. Zonke’s strength and resilience through life’s turbulent waves has allowed her to emerge into an even better, stronger, a more talented, more spectacular version of herself.
“Changes make you stronger” – Zonke says. “No matter what happens, I don’t have it in me to lie down and give up. There is always a way. For me, music is that way. Music is goodness.”

We have really been spoiled for music this week; first the new Cashtime joint, Pasop by DJ Vigilante and now the gorgeous Zonke is back. Not to mention Cassper and K Naomi still have albums to drop in the next few months. If this is a sign of what the next few months are going to be like (musically), then we are up for a great summer!
