Last week I was invited to the Sunglass Hut Media Day in Cape Town. Sunglass Hut is the global leader in fashion, luxury and sports eyewear and revealed a preview of the new designer eyewear collections for the spring/ summer 2013.

Celebrities, like Jo-ann Strauss and Janez Vermeiren, media and bloggers were treated to champagne, canapés and an opportunity to try on all the upcoming Spring/Summer 2013 Trends.

I thought I’d share the love with my ZAleb readers so that you too will be on trend.

Look out for 60’s Mod, Metallics, Floral, Stripes and Bold Brights:

The 60’s are back on the runways and that means square and white frames are perfect for fummer. Look out for quirky finished and androgynous forms, especially from Prada.

Calling all magpies… Gold, silver and colour metallic bombard the runways with elegance. Frames dipped in every metallic shade with a futuristic twist are all the rage. Burberry and Miu Miu have an amazing selection.

Floral is commonly known to be a summer hit. Dolce & Gabbana have taken this trend to the extreme with floral embellishments in all shapes and sizes.

Stripes are seen within all trends this season and it’s even hitting the accessories. Dolce & Gabbana’s have a range of bold shapes with colourful stripes; key for this season’s eyewear.
