What an incredible night the HospiceWits Night With The Stars Celebrity Fashion Show was. I felt so proud to be a part of such an amazing event and amazing cause. It’s being deemed as the event of the year and yes, we’re only in March.
Jan Malan should be incredibly proud of the production he and his team from Jan Malan Umzingeli put together on the evening of Human Rights Day.
123 A-list celebrities were invited to take part in the show and were dressed by the crème da la crème of South African designers.
The designers included: Avante, Black Coffee, Carducci 78 Collection, Clive Rundel, Colleen Eitzen, David Tlate, Dax Martin Swimwear, Fabiani, Fundudzi, Gavin Rajan, Gert-Johan Coetzee, Hip Hop, HospiceWits Shop, JJ Schoeman, Kluk CGDT, Life by Andre Martin, Loin Cloth & Ashes, Naked Ape, Philosophy by Jenni Button, Rubicon, Sies! Isabelle, Spero Villioti and Sun Goddess.
Melrose Arch closed off High Street, which was transformed into the long red carpeted runway. Studio 9 Hair and Beauty Salon created gorgeous, silky hairstyles using KMS products and MAC make-up made sure we were all glowing.
Hip Hop Fashion designed my dress and I felt like a queen walking down the catwalk. Hip Hop also dressed TV and radio personality Jen Su, actress Brumilda van Rensburg, actress Anel Alexander, TV personality Lalla Hirayama and Mrs. United Nations Kona Brown. I personally felt like I was walking in New York or Paris Fashion Week.
The event was sold out and 3000 seats lined Melrose Arches High Streets catwalk. The energy was electric and it warmed my heart when Natalie du Toit, dressed by Kluk CGDT, received a standing ovation from the crowd.
All the proceeds of the night went to the real stars of the night, Hospice Wits who do so much for terminally ill patients and their families.
I am very proud to have been a part of the evening and thank you to everyone involved.
Love,
Bailey
