Big Brother runner ups talk to ZAlebs
They were close to winning the $300,000 cash money prize but only came up short with a few votes. ZAlebs also took the time to hear what Big Brother runner ups Cleo, Elikem, Melvin and Beverly had to say about their experience on the show.
So yesterday ZAlebs brought you the interview we had with 2013 Big Brother winner Dillish Mathews from Namibia. We also thought it be a bit unfair to not also hear what the 4 runner ups, Cleo, Elikem, Melvin and Beverly had to say about their near victory in holding the title as this year’s Big Brother winner.
We first asked second runner up, Cleo from Zambia what her future looks like now that she’s been endowed with being added onto the Big Brother wall of fame and this is what she had to say:
“I’m really hoping that by being on Big Brother my brand as an entertainer will be exposed not only to Africa but to the international market too. Limiting me as a singer would be silly especially considering the great platform I’ve been given to be on this competition, so branching into all fields of the entertainment industry is my strategy for now, thanks to Big Brother Africa.”
ZAlebs, nudged in a question about her relationship with Zimbabwean housemate Hakeem, we hoped she would say she was actually on her way to visit the gorgeious model and “potential boyfriend but that wasn’t the case.
“[Laughs] it’s only been a mere 24 hours guys, I haven’t really had the chance to sit down and talk to him about what we plan on doing with we’ve started in the house. So no we haven’t discussed me visiting him and for now I’ll just leave everything to ‘I don’t know’.
Third runner up Elikem didn’t even hesitate as he happily admitted to taking Pokello with him on his romantic gesture getaway courtesy of Big Brother “We confirmed it yesterday, I called her so yes I’m taking Pokello with me for our romantic getaway” he boastfully announced to ZAlebs.
This year many Africans weren’t too impressed with the arrogant manner in which Western Africans boasted about taking the Big Brother title again as they have in the previous years. Unfortunately Nigerian housemates Melvin and Beverly the fourth and fifth runner ups did not win and seemed a bit dissapointed by Africans who viewed their confidence as arrogant:
“I honestly don’t know hey, I’m actually hearing about all these things for the first time since I’ve stepped out of the Big Brother house. I honestly don’t think us West Africans were bragging too much about winning I guess some people just have an issue with how we exude confidence and the believe we have within ourselves but nonetheless congratulations to the winner Dillish she deserved it” said Melvin.
“Like Melvin just said it’s all about confidence and fortunately or unfortunately it was the West Africans who were quite confident in taking the title of Big Brother once again I don’t think it had anything to do with being boastful people tend to be sensitive about measly things” added Beverly.
ZAlebs couldn’t let Beverly slip away without asking her how her relationship status with South African housemate Angelo was looking like, besides rumor has it she’s moving to South Africa to make things work with Angelo.
“Yes, I saw Angelo yesterday, and yes its true I plan on moving to South Africa but not necessarily permanent I will shuffle between S.A and Nigeria and hopefully him and I are able to make this thing work because we’re really into each other.”
ZAlebs will be keeping an eye on these Big Brother house-mate couples to see if this purely was for entertainment or if the love was real.
