Bon Jovi Rocked Bailey's world

At 51 years old and Jon Bon Jovi still has the energy of a 15 year old!

Bon Jovi rocked Cape Town last night and after 30 years together it doesn’t seem as if they are slowing down either.

My boyfriend surprised me with tickets to Bon Jovi last night and my inner groupie came out to play. I remember “Bed of Roses” being the song in 1995 to slow dance to at the typical school “boys-on-one-side-girls-on-the-other-side” dances.

Bon Jovi stood on stage welcoming everyone and then said something I haven’t heard a musician say in a very long time:

“I hope you’re ready to be rocked for 2 and a half hours!

We all looked at each other as if we weren’t sure we had heard right. Most superstars only perform for an hour.
The Green Point Stadium erupted and we weren’t disappointed. He had everyone laughing and going crazy when he said this ahead of the Justin Bieber concert happening the next night on the same stage: “I may not be Justin Bieber and I may not dance like Justin Timberlake, but I’ve been around longer than both of them put together and I’m NOT going anywhere!!”

After 2 hours of singing our hearts out to his hits, Bon Jovi came back on stage after the screams of “We want more!” and performed for another half an hour. I loved that they did the old school, hand in hand bow at the end. The crowd didn’t stop applauding and just when we thought it was over, he looked at his band members and raised his finger to indicate he’d do one more, which turned into 3 more, even after the encore had finished.

My throat is sore from screaming, cheering and singing so much.
I fell in love with Bon Jovi all over again! Joburg – you are in for an amazing show on Saturday night.
