During the ‘Queen B’s Gumtree Boutique’ campaign, 28 of Bonang Matheba’s finest fashion items were sold on Gumtree. Today we all found out it was a campaign for an even greater cause all along!

Just over a month ago, Bonang Matheba announced the Gumtree Auction Boutique, a campaign that ended up raking in almost 100 000 visitors to the site from fashion circles all around the country.  Thanks to Bonang's loyal fans, the boutique raised over R13 000 and yesterday Bonang and the Gumtree camp announced that they would be donating all of the proceeds to the Nelson Mandela Foundation. To add the cherry to the top of this wonderful cake, Gumtree added a R100 000 contribution to the donation, which added up to a total of R113, 020 to be donated to the late uTata Madiba's foundation.

To think, some people were complaining as to why they should buy Bonang's clothes; only to find out that it was all part of a strategy for an even greater cause.

"This is my way of continuing Tata's legacy beyond his existence." Said an elated Bonang.

She continued to thank Gumtree for hopping aboard this campaign and expressed how this was also a great opportunity for Gumtree to contribute in continuing the legacy of Nelson Mandela.

Tomorrow marks the official start of Nelson Mandela International Day events where the likes of 5FM and even Cashtime Entertainment are set to host a string of events for the day in light of this worthy cause.
