Bring back Mpiyakhe

If you’re a fan of the new Mzansi Magic Telinovela iSibaya we’re sure you're pretty distraught by the death of Mpiyakhe Zungu played by local actor Siyabonga Twala. In last week’s episode Mpiyakhe suddenly died in a car accident after closing a deal with his rivalry taxi associates.

The death of Mpiyakhe’s has definitely not settled well with the viewers of the soapie as he was viewed as the star of the whole story line and, like any other fan, followers of  “iSibya” immediately went to Twitter  expressing their disbelief  to the sudden death of their soapie hero.  Even Zalebs like Dineo Moeketsi had some few words to say about the death of Zungu.

@therealdineo: “Im so sad about Mpiyakhe’s death, I properly needed Kleenex’s throughout the beginning of the episode.  My heart is just sore.

Others have written blogs and created the hash tag #BringMpiyakheBack on twitter in the bid to show the script writers that they’ve made a detrimental mistake by cutting Mpiyakhe out so soon.

@NolwaziShange:  “I agree with the @JustCuriousZA blog. #BringMpiyakheBack #Isibaya is not the same without him.”
The tweets have become so hilarious that some fans believe a sincere apology from the producers of “iSibaya” should be addressed to them.

@NtokozoInStereo26m: “Actually, I think the production house for #isibaya owe us the viewers an apology.”

Earlier on this morning Times Live reported that some fans have threatened to stop watching the show if Mpiyakhe Zungu is not brought back into the script but Bongiwe Potelwa – publicist of Mzansi Magic encouraged fans to continue watching iSibaya as there’s more to come.

“The car accident early in the series has been carefully planned since early script development days.  It is part of the plot and viewers need to keep watching to see where this develops.”
