X Factor finalist - Bubbles, spoke to ZAlebs about her recent trip to the United States of America and signing up with Sony South Africa.

Although Bubbles did not win X Factor South Africa, the competition definitely catapulted her career to greater heights.

Bubbles, whose real name is Wandile Mnomiya (22), hails from Clermont in the West of Durban, and has just returned to the country from the USA.

No, the young singer did not go to the land of milk and honey for leisure, but was actually being mentored by USA singer, Kirk William.

ZAlebs had the chance to speak to this young, talented lady about her experience in America and how it was more than any opportunity she had ever been given before.

“Kirk selected me and Gavin Edward to mentor when he came to perform in X Factor. My experience in America was amazing, we went to PMV tour, Grammy Museum where I learnt a lot about Tupac Shakur, I only knew him as a thug rapper but after visiting the museum I got to know his work better. We were also mentored by Sony LA, I had so much fun and being accompanied by Kirk was great,” Bubbles said.

Bubbles said she is willing to also to teach other aspiring artists everything she learnt from her time in America

She also revealed that she is currently signed to Sony SA and is working on releasing songs very soon.

“I returned from America at the end of July and I received a call from Sony informing me that they will continue working with me. At the moment I am working on a few songs with Zakes Bantwini. I am very grateful for all the opportunities that availed after I left the competition,” Bubbles added.

Bubbles also mentioned that she is getting booked to perform at various gigs in Durban, and that puts food on the table.

Well, there’s nothing that makes us happier than a South African artist that’s eating and about to churn out music for the rest to enjoy.
