DJ C-Live's 11-year-old son, Nadif, has been buried. This comes after C-Live's home in the east of Johannesburg caught fire on Monday, resulting in the young boy's death.
C-Live, who was hospitalised after sustaining burn injuries, has since been discharged. Sunday World reported that the Club-808 producer paid tribute to his late son at the funeral service, held in Roodepoort on Sunday.
"Ever since Nadif came into our lives 11 years ago that Monday morning in a leap year, my life has never been scripted. He has been my best friend, my hommie and he was my saviour. I did not have direction until he came into my life. It has been a sweet, short ride. I have watched him touch many people's lives. Every day I learned from him, even in my darkest hour he was my saviour."
Nadif's mother, Keabetswe Molebo, died after falling off the third floor at her home in Midrand earlier this year. C-Live continued: "When his mother died I had no idea what to do. I had to step up and be a father. I was excited, at the same time scared. I had the support of my partner Portia who had a special relationship with Nadif."
His mother, Virginia Shabalala, said: "He is still traumatised but he will be okay. All his friends, sisters and I am here for him. He was badly burnt on his hands, he needed surgery on both hands. He was also almost killed."
The publication reported that some of the celebrities who attended the funeral included Sugasmaxx, Naked DJ, DJ Naves, Thando Thabethe, and Mo Flava.
