What's Hot: Cassper doesn't think he can win a SAMA

The rapper says doesn't think he'll win anything at the event which takes place in April.

With all his great talent and major support, Cassper Nyovest doesn't believe that he'll win a South African Music Award (SAMA) next month. The rapper seems to not understand why his hit track Doc Shebeleza wasn't nominated in the Record of the Year category.

Despite receiving five nominations, Cassper took to Twitter to share that he's "lost all confidence in winning anything" at the prestigious event. He then asked the SAMAs' twitter handle a few questions.

He first tweeted: "Why were the rules for song of the year changed from 20 songs to 10 and why was it only announced on the night that it's changed? @TheSAMAs."

He then asked if radio airplay is the only way to validate the impact of a song and added: "Or rather its popularity and does this consider independent labels @TheSAMAs?" He mentioned that SA hip hop only recently started growing and that radio playlisting is still minimal. "We just had our first big year."

He's right. SA hip hop is doing extremely well at the moment and SA rappers are finally getting the recognition they deserve. The rapper also added that he's never heard a gospel song on radio. Haaibo! Is that even possible? Anyway, he added: "Does this mean we could never have a Gospel song as a song of the year nominee? @TheSAMAs."

Cassper seems to have missed the fact that a gospel song has won a SAMA in that category. At the 2013 SAMAs Sfiso Ncwane's Kulungile Baba scooped the award - a first for a gospel artist. When he accepted his award, Sfiso said: "It’s a big day... a big moment for the first time as a gospel artist. I have been nominated in the record of the year and we won and I want to thank all the people who voted for me; my supporters, everybody, the whole South Africa."

There's no way Cassper will walk away empty-handed at the SAMAs. No way!
