What's Hot: Cassper Nyovest: Time to support local acts

Cassper Nyovest has a message for fans of music in Africa.

For too long South Africa has had the problem of fans looking to international artists for inspiration, and ignoring local ones.

This seems to be the same issue in Zimbabwe, with South African star Cassper Nyovest picking up on the problem while on a recent tour of the country.

As a result, the rapper has urged Zimbabweans to back their own going forward.

"Zimbabweans have to be taught how to appreciate their own music as much as they appreciate us," the Doc Shebeleza hitmaker told News Day. "I don’t know how you guys should do it, but I think Zimbabwean music should play more on air so that people can appreciate it more."

Hopefully this message catches on in South Africa, as our talent is just as impressive as anything you can find overseas.
