It's a new year, but ZAlebs is back with our usual agenda; briging you insight, interviews and views from the hottest talents in South Africa. 2014 has a lot in store for many of Mzansi's finest artists, and talented singer, Chad Saaiman, is well in line to make this his year as he continues with the efforts that have made him one of South Africa's most loved artists. We spoke to him today to find out how he celebrated the new year, as well as his plans and hopes for it. Let's see what he had to say.
Happy New Year Chad! How did you celebrate the New Year?
Thanks a lot! I was on stage at a venue in Cape Town called Living Room. My 11th consecutive year on stage for New Year's Eve
2014 is finally upon us; what would you say is your biggest goal for the year?
My biggest goal for 2014 is to successfully release my new album and break into foreign markets.
What annoying 2013 habits do you hope South African celebs don't carry into 2014?
A little less 'selfies' this year - the word is officially in the dictionary now.
What's your advice for following through on New Year's Resolutions (And what are yours?)
Keep your New Year resolutions realistic and positive. Write them down and keep them in a place where they are visible. I don't really do New Year resolutions, I just try and better every part of what I do and grow. I would like to write more music this year.
As a musician, you're obviously quite privy to a lot of talent in the industry. Who would you recommend we keep an eye out for in 2014?
Keep an eye out for me! Also look out for guitar and violin duo Acoustic Element, Tia Black. Mario Ogle and Ameen.
This year I play more a lot more live shows and create unique and intimate experiences, you ready?
