What's Hot: The Daily Show sacks Trevor Noah

Trevor and South Africa's Euphoria gets short lived after The Daily Show pulled the comedian's contract due to certain tweets from the comedian

On Monday, news broke that Noah would replace Jon Stewart as the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

South Africa went crazy with the news, while the likes of Piers Morgan and Chris Rock praised the 31-year-old for landing the prestigious position.

But after many low-brow humour tweets and jokes from Noah about, Africans, Jewish people and fat women surfaced years after being published, Comedy Central opted to pull out o the deal.

Dixie Normous, a spokesperson for the channel, said: “We pride ourselves on ensuring religions are not subjected to ridicule. Therefore, we find Tweets previously published by Mr Noah as unacceptable and unnecessary. We have many Jewish employees at Comedy Central, and we want to protect them from him.

“We at Comedy Central were really excited about having Mr Noah as our successor to Mr Stewart, but there is only so much we can allow our viewers to experience. Have you ever seen South Park?”

Noah is yet to comment on the situation, but we can only imagine that he is distraught, as this was his chance to really fly the South African flag high.
