Damon Leaves Strictly Come Dancing

Week five of Strictly Come Dancing came and went, and the dance floor is certainly heating up. This week saw 5fm’s Damon Kalvari axed, as the judges gave some of the harshest critiques of the competition so far. In fact, the only person who seemed to be meaner than the judges was Mr. Kalvari himself. Granted, he was never the most gifted person on the dance floor, but he will certainly missed, after all, there’s only one “robot karate kid” out there. His co-stars all seem to agree.

“I really have fallen for the dude, he is such a lovely man. If they could have seen his progression from our side, it’s a miracle. I really have loved watching him come out of his shell”, Graeme Richards commented.

Scooping first place this week, which won’t come as a surprise to many, was the gorgeous Lalla Hirayama (Let’s face it, you either want to be her or you want to be with her!) Lalla claimed the number one position over another fan favorite this week, Zakeeya Patel. The second place finish didn’t seem to bother Miss Patel, “I’m happy I’m not at the bottom”, she smiled.

“Zakeeya pretty much said it, once you’re at the top it’s really hard, you have a lot on your shoulders, but you can’t think about it.  I’m not even going to act like I’m at the top”, Lalla said about being voted in first place this week.

However, others weren’t able to breathe as easily. Dancing for his life alongside Damon this week was comedian, Mpho Pops, whose theme of an “old couple” didn’t quite resonate with the judges. Based on the voting, it had even less of an impact on the fans. Mpho looked tense when the judges were casting their votes, but eased up when he found out he was safe.

Last night’s episode was exciting, but next week’s show promises to be even hotter as dancers are promising to spice things up.“I want to do something fun next week, not something serious, I’m done with being serious”, giggled Jay Anstey.

As the competition stiffens up, it’s going to become even more difficult to predict who will stay and who will go home. It’s still in your hands, though, and if you want to keep your favorite celebs dancing, vote, vote and vote again!
