The South African entertainment industry is difficult to crack, but things can be made easier if you tackle it with your family alongside you.
Here are some entertainment personalities you probably didn’t know were siblings. What we also found interesting about these siblings is their business-minded approach towards the entertainment industry.
Masina Siblings
The Masina siblings have done well for themselves in South African entertainment. The three brothers - Naked, Ramesh and Fortune, were at the forefront of local hip hop when it began gaining momentum in the early 2000s. Fortune even released a hip hop compilation album titled Abomrapper1, which received rave reviews from local hip hop heads. His brother Ramesh also had a successful run in the mid-2000s with songs like It Rocks.
The Naked DJ, who is probably the most visible sibling currently, has his own show, titled Audiogasm on Metro FM, and is also part of the Front Row team hosted by Bonang Matheba.
The youngest siblings Ntando and Hlelo Masina were the twins to listen to on YFM a couple of years ago. Although their e.tv reality show Blame it on Fame failed to garner any success after its first season, the twins seem to be doing just fine. The twins are also founders of their N.G.O initiative, Campaign for Girls.
Ramaphakela Siblings
Rethabile and Katleho Ramaphakela have been in the entertainment industry for years now. Rethabile's first TV gig was back in the 90s when she was one of the presenters on M-Net's youth show, KTV. For those who might not be in the know, she is also the voice behind V-entertainment. Now you know the face behind the "Seriously" tagline.
We then got introduced to her brother Katleho, who played the role of Neo on e.tv's student drama - Backstage. The siblings, along with their older brother Tshepho, are the co-owners of Burnt Onion Production, which produced SABC 1's My Perfect Family.
And of course, one of our favourite entertainment siblings are Hlubi Mboya and Khuli Roberts...
