eTV's Vat n' Sit looking like a hit

Parker's Comedy Club at Montecasino was the perfect scene for the official launch of eTV and eKasi+'s newest sitcom, Vat'n Sit, on Thursday night. ZAlebs and eTV have always had a good relationship and we will never hesitate to grab the opportunity to free our imagination with our good friends. While the beverages and food were never going to hurt, when we found out that Trevor Gumbi would be MC-ing, we knew we would have a great night in store.

We arrived just in time to catch one of Mzansi's favorite comics as he begun his set and introduced the show. His jokes about the different weaves (Indian, Brazillian) that black women wear on their heads were a massive hit. Although, like any comic, he wasn't shy and found himself "Going too far" at times. His joke about white people, blonde ladies, gunshots under the table and blades didn't go down too well. He redeemed himself with a witty "Too Soon" when he realised people hadn't taken to his OP joke.

We met a few of the cast members too (Although none of them spoke to the lengths that Gumbi did). Liopelo Maphathe will be starring in the show as Gumbi's girlfriend, and co-leading actress. It was the first time we had ever seen her in person, but wow she was looking FINE, in a gold dress that hugged her body in all the right places.

Chumisa Cosa, Nyembezi Kunene, Bexta Ndabalime and Christopher Kubheka made up the rest of the cast and they all got to share a moment on stage before it was time for us to watch the first snippet of the show.

We were introduced to each character, we were given the story line and we were afforded the chance to preview the show before it officially airs on the 16th of April 2014 on eKasi+. We have to say that eTV, eKasi+ and Black Brain pictures really have a hit on their hands. The crowd chuckled enjoyably at every joke and when we saw them all together in action, it was clear that the best actors for each individual role had been cast.

We were fed, we were entertained and we were excited by the little of the show we got to see, but it was enough to still ensure that we had a great night. The rest of the evening was wound down by three different comedians including Joe Parker himself (Who hosted the latter part of the evening) as everybody got the chance to meet the exciting Vat'n Sit cast.

Make sure you're tuned in to eKasi+ on the 16th of April at 9pm; this is one sitcom you do NOT want to miss!
