Zalebs is excited to bring you our latest exclusive interview, this time with Locnville. The twins, Andrew and Brian Chaplin, have been taking South Africa by storm from the moment they released their breakthrough single, Sun In My Pocket. We found out a little more about how they’ve taken to fame, and the boys also took the time to answer a few fun questions from fans.
Boys, it's a pleasure to be in touch with you. You went from High school, to being one of SA's most recognizable artists. How's the journey been?
It's been amazing! A proper whirlwind. It all took off very quickly and we were always confident in our abilities, but had no idea it was gonna blow up to the level that it did.
Music has been in our life as early as we can remember. We listened to a lot of music growing up, got guitars at age 6 and decided it's all we want to do in the future.
Your song [Sun In My Pocket] features on FIFA; that's how you know you make cool music. Do you enjoy your tracks?
Appearing on FIFA was a personal highlight it was so awesome to hear it, and it boosted our exposure on the international scene. We love what we do, it would be shooting ourselves in the foot if we didn't enjoy our music. We are very meticulous about what we put on an album.
If you're good looking and make popular music, you will have haters. You're not blind to the things people say, how do you deal with criticism?
We've always been aware of the fact that not everybody will like us. In the beginning we took it to heart a little bit, sometimes we got bleak, but as we go through life and develop our careers, we realize that people have their opinion. It works both ways; sometimes we have to keep ourselves humble and not let the positive praise gets to our head.
What's been the biggest challenge in adjusting to your new lifestyle?
Dealing with fame has been the toughest adjustment. We never woke up thinking we would be famous. Having such a large base of fans is great, but some people go a bit crazy when they see us and become a little invasive. Dealing with that kind of reception has been tough.
Do you think your lives will ever be the same again?
In a way they have. We still have the same friends, our team helps us stay grounded, and we have strong family behind us. We’re happy with where we are and we want to continue progressing.
Do you have any regrets about the paths you've chosen? It can't be easy not having a lot of time to spend with friends and family
There certainly some regrets, it hasn’t all been easy. Sometimes you don't see family and friends for a long time, and that gets difficult. But at the end of the day we, as well as our family, all know that this is what we signed up for. Technology makes things easier when we’re on the road though!
@Zalebs can't wait to see the interview with Locnville!!! Pls make sure to ask at least a few if my questions!!! 😍 #AskLocnville

Fans ask Locnville
Would you ever date a fan?
[Brian]Sort of; I mean, if I dated someone and they happened to like our music, then sure I’d technically be “dating a fan,” I don’t have any exception to anybody except if it was a crazy stalker fan- then I’d probably not!
Have you ever helped one girl hook up with one of the brothers?
It hasn't happened, but we'd wingman for you!
Favorite food?
Brian: Fav food depends on the day, normally i like chicken, ostrich and steaks as well as sushi.
Drew: Asian food.
