Fast and Furious 7 has been put on hold indefinitely as a result of Paul Walker's death.
Walker – the star of the franchise – was killed after the Porsche he was riding in with his friend and partner Roger Rodas slammed into a tree and light post and burst into flames on 30 November.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, although filming was roughly halfway complete, Walker was scheduled to film some "key scenes" this week after production took a break for the Thanksgiving holiday, before moving to Abu Dhabi to film a high-octane opening sequence.
The film had been scheduled for release in July 2014.
In a statement released on 4 December, Universal said: "Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers."
Meanwhile, an autopsy revealed that Walker died from "the combined effect of traumatic and thermal injuries, fuelling suggestions that he may have survived the initial impact.
Rodas – who was driving at the time – died of "multiple traumatic injuries", his autopsy revealed.
