Goodbye Motamma and Betty!

Zalebs speaks to this week’s Big Brother Africa evictees Motamma and Betty.

Firstly, ZAlebs would also like pass on our condolences with regards to the passing of your grandfather Motamma…

Motamma:  Thank you. I’ve been hiding my emotions because I didn’t want to sulk most of the times. I had to enjoy the experience and constantly stay positive because I knew my family was supporting me the entire time.

Were you surprised that you were exchanged for eviction last night?

Motamma:  Oh my gosh yea, I really didn’t expect that! I didn’t see it coming but because of my calm nature I just took it as it came.  Initially I knew I wasn’t going to be nominated anytime soon because I got along with everyone but unfortunately I met my demise way too soon in the game.

Betty, were you also in a bit of disbelief?

Betty: I’m extremely proud to be an African woman and I know I have a lot to contribute to this continent in the near future.  So yes, it’s unfortunate that I’m out of the competition but this just gives me more fuel to make something out of myself.

Motamma, BBA is infamously known for the relationships that are created in the house. Did you have your eyes on anyone in the house?

Motamma: [Laughs] No, not at all I was just really there to interact with my fellow African brothers and sisters.

Betty, apparently there are a lot of people in Ethopia who are not happy with your relationship with Bolt. Are you afraid of the response you’re going to get when you go back home?

Betty: No I have no fear at all; I know that I was just being myself in the house.  I really don’t believe I did anything wrong to offend anyone, so no I’m not nervous about going home, I’m actually quite excited.

Who did you mostly enjoy having conversations with during your stay in the house?

Motamma: Definitely Feza, we could relate on so many issues and she really just seemed so sincere when we had our conversations.  I also enjoyed having conversations with Melvin, he’s just a darling.

What’s your most memorable moment from being in the BBA house?

Betty: Everything really! All the crazy dance parties we had, gosh just everything hey.I think the moments I’ll hold close to my heart are the times I spent with Bolt.
