Hlomla Dandala scoops Ghana Award
On New Year’s Eve Jacob’s Cross star Hlomla Dandala has been honoured with the Best Actor trophy at the Ghana Movie Awards, placing the South African flag firm onto the African continent.
Hlomla took to twitter and expressed his honor and excitement about the award:
His recognition for the award stems from his role in a romantic comedy movie, directed by Ghanain director Shirley Frimpong-Manso. Dandala plays the role of “Peter Poplampo” (funny surname) who is quite the Casanova with the ladies until his paternal need to be a father kicks in.
According to reports the show was shot in Ghana for a period of one month and premiered in not only Ghana but Nigeria too.
Congratulations to Hlomla we hope to see this movie in South African theatres soon. Rumours has it that he'll also be the host of the Royal Soapie Awards which were unfortunately pushed back to this year due to undisclosed issues, we're sure the handsome Dandala will do a fine job as a host.
