Ahead of the new exciting July timeslot change, e.tv music and lifestyle show Club 808 will introduce a fresh new face to the show. Dineo Ranaka, who has co-presented the show alongside DJ Mo Flava will be leaving the show on Friday 21 June.
Dineo will hand over the reins to the charismatic, engaging YFM DJ, Thando Thabethe, who will officially start co-presenting alongside DJ Mo Flava on 28 June after Dineo’s departure.
“I look forward to working with Mo. He is dynamic and I have huge respect for his work ethic. I have been watching Club 808 over the years and have looked up to Dineo even in her YFM days. To be given the opportunity to try and fill those big shoes is extremely nerve wrecking and is an absolute honour,” says Thando Thabethe.
The multi- talented radio DJ, MC and actress who has been making waves in the entertainment industry for the past five years will add a fresh dynamic to the lively Club 808 team, the charming DJ Mo Flava and talented DJ ZanD.
This exciting change comes in at crucial time for Club 808, which will start broadcasting on Saturdays at 6.30PM from July 06. The show, which is in its third year, has grown tremendously over the past years, bringing South African viewers unique aspects of the vibrant South African and international music and youth culture. With a current viewership of over 2 million, Club 808 continues to enjoy a successful run as one of Mzansi’s favourite music shows since its inception in 2010.

Who is Thando?
Thando Thabethe is a South African actress, presenter and Radio DJ born 18 June 1990 in Johannesburg South Africa.
She completed her high school career at Mondeor High School, where her love for the arts stemmed. She then went on to perform in various theatre productions including “Instruments of Darkness” and “The smile”. She then began doing TV work, YOTV Quest For Fame, Backchat and Celebrity Fast Facts being her first taste of the industry.
In 2008 she ventured into her tertiary education at the University of Johannesburg. She played a prominent role at the UJ ARTS Centre starring in theatre productions such as Flat Spin, meanwhile joining the campus radio station, UJFM as a newsreader.
Between the years 2009 and 2010 she landed a role in a documentary on the DSTV educational channel mindset learn, about child prostitution.
She also did various commercials including Brothers For Life and TV License.
In 2011 she made the move from newsreader to Drive Time DJ on UJFM and within three months she received a request from YFM management to join the biggest youth radio station.
She is currently a radio DJ on YFM 99.2, BCom Accounting Graduate and plays the lead role of Thando Nkosi on the SABC 1 sitcom My Perfect Family and a supporting role on SABC 1 drama Intersexions as Lulu. She currently hosts The AudioTreat weekends 12-3pm on YFM.
